Flowers Winery sits on the extreme western edge of Sonoma County — ridges so close to the Pacific (under two miles) that fog, marine wind, and a growing season cooler than just about anywhere else in California shape every wine. When Walt and Joan Flowers founded the estate in 1989, the conventional wisdom said Pinot Noir and Chardonnay couldn't ripen out there. They proved the conventional wisdom wrong, and effectively put the True Sonoma Coast on the cult-wine map.
The Sea View Ridge Estate — their flagship single-vineyard Pinot — comes from one of the most wind-blown, salt-touched, low-yielding sites in California Pinot. The 2021 earned 97 points from James Suckling and made his Top 100 Wines of the USA in 2022. Three bottles left at Artisan.
