Our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is sourced from our organically farmed estate vineyard, Sea View Ridge, as well as several family-owned vineyards that share our farming philosophy and commitment to highlighting the purity of these coastal sites. This wine reflects the unique characteristics of our estates: coastal influence, topography, and distinctive soils.

VINTAGE

The 2024 Sonoma Coast growing season was marked by dynamic weather patterns and was capped with a vigorous finish. After winter pruning, adequate rainfall kept soils saturated through early spring. Budbreak unfolded across the region just as the weather turned, ushering in summer conditional that were very favorable, supporting steady canopy development and shoot elongation. This was a crucial layer of protection for the year's strong and balanced yield, which was shaped by ample mid-season heat that compressed the ripening curve. We were then rewarded with a swift harvest, which was just a month long. The resulting wines bear fresh acidity, savory citrus, and lifted minerality—all characteristics that evoke the very essence of the far Sonoma Coast.

A bright yellow color, the 2024 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is elegant and pretty, with notes of white flowers, candied apples, preserved lemon-lime citrus, melon, and delicate vanilla. Coming from a grower program, it is refreshing and finely balanced. Chantal likes Wente for the phenolic structure, and 80% is fermented in barrel. She feels the 2024 Chardonnays have more longevity here. Medium to full-bodied, this wine has appealing richness, refreshing acidity, and excellent balance without feeling weighty. Drink over the coming 10 years. Drink 2026-2036.
