About the Whisky:

Batch Proof is a celebration of Woodford Reserve’s proprietary process – blending barrels into a batch and then bottling the whiskey at its actual proof, straight from the barrel. Batch Proof is crafted using the same grain bill and process as Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon. The 2024 edition is 121.2 Proof.

Batch Proof, however, takes Woodford Reserve’s trademark flavor range of sweet vanilla and toasted oak to a whole new level offering consumers the privilege of tasting Woodford Reserve in its purest form (and not the standard 90.4 for which Woodford is known).

"2024’s release showcases a heavy barrel influence, that’s laced with dark cherries and a hint of anise. Vanilla and dried banana chip notes are enduring, but the whiskey is increasingly smoky as it develops in the glass, with touches of torched citrus, the whiskey leans heavily on char as a sign of things to come. On the palate, the whiskey is again quite wood-forward and toasty, bordering on smoky, with elements of tobacco and dry grasses. Smoldering with notes of cloves and dark chocolate, the sweeter side of the bourbon slowly comes into focus, with a return of cherry, perhaps dried, and a light floral quality. Honey-sweet on the finish, with a reprise of well-spiced wood that keeps things grounded. A splash of water is a great idea to help round out the sharper edges and helps a butterscotch character to emerge, but it’s worth tasting straight as well to experience its evolution to a lower abv." - Drinkhacker

"A real treat on the nose, this brings cherry-dipped vanilla soft serve, Funfetti birthday cake, strawberries and cream, frosted strawberry Pop Tart, and strawberry milk. Red Hots are front and center on the palate, though time and water bring out more red fruit: cherry cough drop, raspberry preserves, and red pepper jelly. Chocolate-covered chiles and a crack of white pepper ensure the heat lingers throughout the lengthy cinnamon-spiced finish." (2023 Edition)
