About the Winery:
Weingut Prinz is a family-run German wine estate located in Hallgarten in the famous Rheingau region, established as a hobby in 1991 by Fred Prinz and expanded into a full-scale biodynamic winery known for elegant, high-elevation Riesling.

From the very beginning, Fred Prinz placed great emphasis on quality and craftsmanship in the vineyard and cellar, which quickly earned the winery an excellent reputation.

The Prinz winery's vineyards are located in prime locations in the Rheingau, including the renowned Hallgartener Jungfer, Hallgartener Schönhell, and Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen sites. These sites are known for their quartzite, slate, and loess soils, which lend the wines a distinctive minerality and fines

About the Wine:
The winery's focus is on Riesling, which accounts for approximately 85% of the vineyard area. The Rieslings from the Prinz winery are characterized by their clear fruit, lively acidity, and pronounced minerality. They offer aromas of citrus, green apple, peach, and floral notes. The wines are aged in stainless steel tanks or large wooden barrels, preserving the freshness and characteristic structure of the wines.

Vineyard: Hallgartener Jungfer is a steep, high-altitude site facing southeast to southwest.

Soil: High concentration of quartzite and stony slate, which retains midday warmth and radiates it back at night.

Winemaking: Fermented and aged using a mix of stainless steel tanks and large traditional wooden barrels, with a portion of the 2021 fruit foot-stomped to extract fine phenolic texture.
