About This Wine:
The Pecorino vines take its name from the old tradition of the transhumance. During this period, shepherds were bringing their sheeps in the hilly area surrounded by pecorino vines. Sheep used to like this type of grape, so shepherds were referrring to these vines as “pecorino” because it comes from “pecora” sheep in italian. The denomination of DOCG became Offida DOCG only in 2011.

Ratings & Reviews

Vinous (2021 Vintage):

"The 2021 Pecorino Villa Angela is wildly pungent with a bouquet that’s packed full of savory herbal tones, intense lemon, grapefruit and gingery spice. It’s round and soothing on the palate, silky in feel, yet has a core of citrus-tinged acids and tart orchard fruits that keeps the expression energetic throughout. This tapers off with a salty flourish, along with zests of lime throughout the long and tension-filled finale." - Eric Guido (July 2022)

 Wine Spectator (2021 Vintage):

"A juicy white, with crisp acidity and a lightly chalky texture enlivening notes of star fruit, melon, pink grapefruit pith and fresh herbs. Drink now. 5,000 cases made, 2,000 cases imported." - Alison Napjus (May 2023)

 Wine Enthusiast (2021 Vintage):

"Passion fruit, grapefruit, lime and white flowers jump out of the glass from this Pecorino. The fruit-forward palate highlights fresh herbs and citrus zest, with a crisp finish." - Jeff Porter (July 2023)
