Notes from the Winemaker:
As our Pinot Noir offerings expanded, we sought out the cool, foggy and then-emerging Anderson Valley region for its ability to produce wines of restraint and finesse.
A blend of our two estate vineyards in Anderson Valley, this elegant wine is balanced from the first sip to the long, lifted finish.
Vintage Notes:
The 2023 vintage in Anderson Valley was a testament to the power of patience, marked by an extended ripening period and ideal conditions that led to exceptional quality. After a cold, wet winter and persistent atmospheric rivers delayed bud break, the season remained cool through spring and early summer. Summer warmth finally arrived in July, gradually ripening the fruit while preserving its freshness and acidity. Despite a late-season rain, warm, sunny intervals provided the perfect conditions to harvest vibrant, balanced grapes.
Ratings & Reviews
93 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"Incredibly consistent year to year, this is a cherry- and raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir with nuances of pine forest and elegant cedarwood. Medium-bodied on the palate, a core of crunchy red fruits is lifted by apple-skin tannins and bright acidity, which gradually softens to reveal a creamier mid-palate beneath a canopy of vanilla-scented rose petals. A lovely and fragrant vintage for this wine. Aged in 24% new French oak barrels with 4% whole cluster during ferments. Total time in barrel was 10 months. (Drink between 2025-2033)." - Jonathan Cristaldi (May 2025)
92 Points - James Suckling:
"Aromas of warm vanilla, mocha, toasty spices and Amarena cherries. These follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with moderate acidity and flavors of kirsch, black raspberries and allspice. Drink or hold." (May 2025)
