Notes from the Winemaker:
A succulent wine with aromas of lavender, cranberries and minty floral Asian spice. This is textbook Cabernet Sauvignon and highlights how well McLaren Vale is situated to growing it.

Deep dark garnet red with a black core.

Notes of redcurrant, tobacco, bay leaf, juniper, fresh earth and mulberry.

Fresh and lively through the entry with plenty of bright red fruits and energy. Tannins begin rounded and broad, then tighten through the finish providing a gentle savoury quality and considerable length. The acid profile is very bright and fresh. The palate is complimented with notes of redcurrants, mulberry, and juniper. Depth and layers are found in the form of bay leaf and dried herbs whilst the palate touches on notes of tobacco, earth and ash.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Impressive, with a plush, seductive and succulent body, offering sink-your-teeth-into-them flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum, accented by details of dark chocolate, rose petal and savory. Drink now through 2025. 5,000 cases imported." – MW (Jun 30, 2017)

91 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"Brilliant violet. Assertive dark berry, licorice and pipe tobacco aromas, backed by allspice and cola nuances. Sappy and focused in the mouth, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors that are given backbone by a core of juicy acidity. A smoky note appears on a very long, dark-fruit-driven finish framed by gently chewy, harmonious tannins." - Josh Raynolds (Oct 2017)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2015 Sexy Beast Cabernet Sauvignon is redolent of crème de cassis, black forest cake and menthol with a waft of cigar boxes. Full-bodied, concentrated and full-on "sexy," as the name suggests, I like the firm, ripe tannins in the mouth that support the generous fruit very nicely through the long finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (30th Aug 2016)
