About the Winery:
Turley Wine Cellars was founded in Napa Valley by former emergency room physician Larry Turley in 1993. Under the direction of winemaker Tegan Passalacqua, Turley now makes 50 different wines from over 50 vineyards across California, primarily Zinfandel and Petite Syrah, with many vines dating back to the late 1800s. By farming organically and focusing on old vine vineyards of these varieties, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture.

About the Wine:
Though a recent addition to the Turley family, Sauvignon Blanc was one of the first wines ever made from the Turley Estate in 1993. Those vines have since been replaced by Zinfandel, but we have replanted a small section of the estate to dry-farmed, head-trained Sauvignon Blanc from heritage Napa Valley budwood once again. Get while the getting’s good though—Larry is hoarding as much as possible for himself, and sharpening his oyster shucker as we speak!

Ratings & Reviews

Wine Advocate (2023):
"The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Turley Estate is sourced from dry-farmed, head-trained vines planted in 2011 and aged in a combination of concrete egg, neutral barrique and stainless steel. It opens with a bright, poised and pure nose of white peach, apricot, fresh tarragon and citrus blossom aromas set against a backdrop of beeswax. The light-bodied palate is bright and peachy, with an understated, nuanced texture and a long, floral and succulent finish." - Erin Brooks (Jun 2024)
