About the Winery:
Tua Rita is a winery situated in Suvereto, Tuscany. When Rita and Virgilio bought it in 1984, the land was supposed to offer just the picturesque surroundings in which they would live in touch with nature. Those original 2 hectares of vines have now become 51 hectares.Today, what started as amusing ‘vins de garage’, are wines that are exported everywhere in the world thanks to the marketing of Rita and Virgilio’s son-in-law, Stefano Frascolla. The wines of Tua Rita all have one element in common: the personality of the earth with its ferrous notes and a penetrating and rapid, progressive development of their flavor.

About the Wine:
Keir Ansonica, a wine that comes from a traditional Tuscan varietal. It is an etiquette that is enriched over the four years of vinification in amphora that started in 2016 with a red berry Keir. It will certainly surprise you agreeably especially because it is a wine that has been neither clarified nor filtered and is a limited series of about two thousand bottles. Keir Ansonica is a new way for Tua Rita to ‘think and do’. Somehow, but still faithful to tradition, Tua Rita wanted to put itself to the test creating something novel.

Tasting Notes:
Made with 100% Ansonica, you'll find a wine with exotic fruit with a pop of lime which dances to a backdrop of fragrant mineral notes of flint. The wine opens to a burst of ocean brine, medicinal herbs, and Mediterranean scrub. At first sip it is direct, fresh and very sapid; the concentration seems to prevail but once it coats the palate it takes on amplitude, body and structure. It is the essence of the oxymoron "rough velvet". The finish is remarkably persistent, like a wave of the sea overwhelming you with its sapidity and then slowly withdrawing, leaving the scents of its foam in your mouth.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:
A clean and brilliant white with aromas and flavors of sliced limes and honeysuckle, as well as lemons. It’s medium-bodied with linear fruit and verticality and energy at the end. Made and aged in Drunken Turtle amphoras, which are very reductive and give a transparent character. Sustainable. Drink now.
