About the Winery
TOR Wines was founded in 2001 by Tor Kenward and his wife Susan, after Tor spent nearly five decades in the Napa Valley wine industry. The winery focuses on small-production, single-vineyard wines from esteemed Napa Valley sites, working with top growers to source fruit. Known for producing high-scoring, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons and other wines, the winery reflects Tor Kenward's extensive experience and deep relationships in the region.

Winemaker Notes:
"Bursting with black cherries, rhubarb pie, and huckleberry preserves the nose on this stunning Cabernet is laced with black licorice and cinnamon notes that add a subtle and exotic feeling to the luxurious pure fruit aromas. The palate is dense and chewy with layers of unctuous defined fruits, the comforting presence of perfectly ripe tannin finishes with a touch of fine sweet cedar and black tea notes before a 30 second+ finish. This wine is well put together and showcases the playful yet powerful nature of top Oakville terroirs. Will drink well on release and improve from 5 years or more in the cellar."

Ratings & Reviews

95 Points - James Suckling:
"Very structured, with firm tannins and a feeling of tension that supports the ample dark fruit flavors. Dusky, spicy oak aromas with macerated cherries, blackcurrants and red cherries on the palate. Sourced from the eastern side of Oakville. Full-bodied. Drink or hold." (Sep 2024)

93 Points - Decanter:
"Aged for 15 months in French oak, the 2022 TOR Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of fruit from Double H Ranch Vineyard—a 1.2-hectare site directly below Dalla Valle—and Renteria 360 off Skellenger Lane. This vintage showcases classic Oakville scrub brush aromas with a more medium-bodied expression than in previous years, reflecting the warm growing season. The firm yet inviting tannins bring a gentle elegance, while the finish unfolds with cola nut, sassafras, and a kiss of spearmint. Good grip and length make for a well-structured, balanced wine." 92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is terrific, and it's an appellation release in 2022 that's well worth your time and money. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Cabernet Franc, it delivers perfumed, ripe blue fruits, violets, sappy herbs, and a touch of leather in its medium to full-bodied, forward, juicy, front end-loaded style. It's going to keep for 8-10 years, but there's no need to hold off." (Jan 2025)
