About the winery:
A contemporary creation, Champagne Thiénot was founded in 1985 by negociant Alain Thienot. Part of the Alain Thiénot Group, owner of brands such as Canard-Duchêne, Joseph Perrier and Marie Stuart, it is based in Taissy, near from Reims and currently owns more than 30 hectare (74 acres) of vineyards. About half of these are in Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages, including Grand Cru Ay, Le Mesnil, and Avize; 1er Cru Dizy, Cumières, Pierry and Tauxières. About 60% of the grapes used are from their own vineyards. Thiénot also partners with growers among 20 different Cru vineyard sites, with long term contracts to supplement the supply of estate grapes.

Ratings & Reviews

97 Points - James Suckling:
"This is a very intense and powerful blanc de blancs with sliced cooked-apple, dried-lemon, pie-crust and stone aromas and flavors. So full and intense. Chewy texture. Rich and structured. A truly great blanc de blancs. Such intensity and power. Drink or hold." - JS (July 2022)

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"The Chardonnay in this mature Champagne has developed nutty characteristics allied to a creamy texture that is totally ready to drink. This is a very fine wine from a great vintage. Drink now." - Roger Voss (Oct 2021)

92 Points - Decanter Magazine:
“Butter, sweet apricot and lemon, gentle with some almond and cream. Complex flavour delivery. Focused and snappy with mandarin syrup notes. Refreshing acidity brings the ageing potential. Generous finish." (Nov 2023)

91 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Coming from multiple terroirs (Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, and Epernay), the 2008 Champagne Cuvée Stanislas is 100% Chardonnay with 4 grams of dosage, disgorged in September 2019. Lots of clean stone fruits, brioche, toasted almonds, and a touch of honeyed minerality define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, with a soft, creamy, rounded texture as well as solid mid-palate depth. It opens up nicely with air, but it’s certainly ready to go. I would lean toward enjoying bottles over the coming 5-8 years." (Mar 2021)
