About the Whisky:
Armed only with their highly acute senses, The Macallan Whisky Team is able to identify distinctively rich casks which are at their peak point of maturity. These casks are then expertly batched to create The Macallan Rare Cask, with each batching limited to the volume equivalent of only 50 oak butts. The result is one of our most complex whiskies to craft, as it is sourced from less than 1% of the finest casks maturing on our estate. Because of the skill necessary to make Rare Cask, it’s only bottled a limited number of times a year with the batch number and year of bottling highlighted on the box and label. With its richly complex yet perfectly balanced flavor profile, The Macallan Rare Cask is an approachable entry into The Masters Series, suitable for all occasions, and the perfect gift this holiday season.
TASTING NOTES:
COLOR: Mahogany Red
AROMA: Soft notes of opulent vanilla and raisin pique the nose, giving way to a sweet ensemble of apple, lemon and orange
PALATE: Oak resonates, polished and rich. Vanilla and chocolate lead the finale along with a light citrus zest
