About the Winery:
Silver Oak Cellars is a family-owned, California winery dedicated to producing only Cabernet Sauvignon. Silver Oak was established in 1972 by Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer. It is currently operated by Ray's sons David Duncan, who serves as the President and CEO, and his brother, Tim Duncan, who serves as Executive Vice President. Silver Oak has two wineries; one in Oakville in the Napa Valley and one in Healdsburg in the Alexander Valley.

Winemaker Notes:
The 1992 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a vibrant ruby-red color. It has a rich nose of cassis, violets and candlewax. This wine has a mouth-coating attack, a rich mid-palate and a tapering finish laden with fruit. This Cabernet is drinking beautifully now and will continue to give drinking pleasure through 2020 given proper cellar conditions. May need decanting due to light sediment.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Advocate:
"The deeper purple-colored 1992 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which is being released in February, 1997, does not exhibit any of the Alexander Valley's herbaceous side. It offers more of the classic blackcurrant, cedar character. There is plenty of high quality, sexy, smoky oak in the nose to go along with copious quantities of jammy black fruits. Full-bodied, with a creamy texture, and a sweet, expansive, chewy mid-section, this dense, exceptionally rich 1992 will provide gorgeous drinking for 12-15 years. These All-American Cabernet Sauvignons continue to be "can't miss" propositions with the majority of Cabernet lovers." - Robert Parker (Dec 1996)
