About the Winery:
Since planting our first vines in 1895, the Seghesio family name has become synonymous with the highest quality Zinfandel and Italian varietal wines from Sonoma County. For the team at Seghesio Family Vineyards, every harvest is the realization of the American dream of an Italian immigrant who came to this country at the turn of the 20th century to build a family and a future.

About the Wine:
Bold and spicy with rich, briary fruit, our Old Vine Zinfandel showcases the complexity and intensity that only truly old vines can yield. For us, “Old Vine” means that the vines are at least 50 years old, and we source grapes for this wine from exceptional vineyards that are closer to 75 years old on average.

Beautifully balanced, this wine pairs well with Beef Braciole, mushroom sugo, and cherry balsamic pork tenderloin.

Tasting Notes:
The wine invites you in with a depth of aromatics of black plum, fig, and baking spices. Our Old Vine Zinfandel opens with a luscious mouth filling entry of candied figs, baking spices and mocha. Savory notes and lengthy tannins on the mid-palate give way to a rich, velvety dense finish with intense structure.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - Wine Spectator
“That rare Zinfandel with finesse and briary fruit, offering wild berry, mocha and black licorice flavors that gather richness and zest toward lively tannins. Drink now through 2031. 6,800 cases made.” – Tim Fish (web only 2023)

91 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2021 Zinfandel Old Vine offers up loads of scorched earth, cedar and plum, and on the palate, it reveals a bit of mixed berry fruit, with pressed red flowers and dusty earth. Juicy and inviting, with ripe tannins, this has a lot of immediate charm to drink over the next few years." (7/21/23)
