Description:

Sazerac is a Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey. It is often described a as a low rye” whiskey at 51% Rye , which is the minimum to be classified as a rye whiskey. The Mashbill is approximately 51% Rye, 39% Corn, and 10% Malted Barley.  

It is aged for 6 years in new charred American Oak Barrels. 

Tasting Notes:

NOSE: Orange Zest, clove, and dried dark fruits, sweet corn, apple cider

PALATE: Medium sweet probably due to 39% Corn. Corn Chex, Honey, Cinnamon, Cloves

FINISH: Medium length with wood, nuts, mint on the finish

The finish is smooth, with muted sweetness and fruit notes of raspberry sorbet—spicy but well-textured and of medium length, with a great veneer of softness and emerging spice."
