Notes from the Winemaker:
This wine opens with luscious aromas of blueberry and tea leaves. As it evolves in the glass, cherry and plum begin to show. The first sip is intense. The texture is elegant and smooth. The finish is rich with coffee and a lingering cedar spice.
Winemaker Notes By Aaron Pott & Elizabeth Tangney:
Aaron Pott says this wine “whispers of elegance.” Luscious aromas of blueberry and subtle tea leaf evolve into black cherry, plum and violet. The first sip is intense, with berries framed in cocoa. Notes of espresso and cedar spice linger on the smooth finish.
Varietal: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot.
Production Notes: Cold soak for 5 days.
Post-fermentation maceration 7-14 days
Ratings & Reviews
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:"Beguiling in cedar, black cherry and black tea, this inviting Cab is made by consulting winemaker Aaron Pott with 2% Petit Verdot blended in, noticeable in its dark, inky color. The tannins are well-managed, present but softened, a taste of dark chocolate and coffee subtly hinted at through the finish." - Virginie Boone (10/1/2014)
