"Refined maturity, but with plenty of vivacity. After the first whiff of sweet-scented antique oak, flavors of cherry pie, bubble gum, banana flan, honeyed vanilla, and maple syrup emerge, all tempered by rich herbs and mature oak. A formidable structure allows it to hold water ably, and brings out apple pie and blackberry tart against wood and spice, with a graceful, restrained oak influence."

"Chesterfield and gold leaf in a glass; a whiskey which transports us. Luscious notes of caramel, runny honey and hints of beeswax pave the way to a lifted, spiced finish."

"The aromatic profile is that of a brimming spice box – cardamom, clove, dried vanilla, and nutmeg wrap around quince, white peach, and cantaloupe fruit. A splash of water releases more ripe fruit and wakes up the spices."

"A fantastic aroma that’s hard to find a major fault with and light years beyond Russell’s Reserve’s other standard bourbon releases. The palate immediately finds a balance between its sweet and savory sides. Classic Wild Turkey fruitiness is present but is nicely offset by gentle seasoned aged oak. It's a striking balance that the bourbon manages to pull off, as cherry and apple are able to shine right along with a prominent aged oak, leather, and a dash of pepper. Complex and bold, it's altogether a treat to sip. Finding the perfect balance between its fruity and sweet notes against its aged oak notes, makes this 13 year old barrel proof bourbon from Wild Turkey a steal."

"The whiskey starts off strong, a delightful nose showcasing chocolate and some mint, plus a surfeit of baking spices and orange peel. Seductive and a bit Christmassy, it smells heavenly even here in the middle of summer. The palate holds its cards a bit tightly at first, leaning on graphite and toasty barrel char, but it eventually gives way and shows its hand. A moment of patience reveals toasted coconut and a light lacing of chocolate, then layers of spice and more of that orange peel. It’s a little racy at full proof but never unmanageable — and I would never have pegged this at coming in over 57% abv — taking you down an immersive and increasingly complex rabbit hole the more you sip on it. The finish offers endless waves of caramel, complementing the palate and soothing any rough edges you might have encountered along the way."
