About the Winery:
Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate is nestled in Mendocino County’s fog-shrouded, Anderson Valley. As the California property of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. Roederer's unique winemaking style is based on two elements: complete ownership of its vineyards and the addition of oak-aged reserve wines to each year's blend or cuvee to create complex, dry and harmonious sparkling wines.

Notes From The Winemaker:
As with most roses primarily made with more Pinot Noir than Chardonnay, the Roederer Estate Rose is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. For color, the winemaker prepares a small portion of Pinot Noir with extended maceration and adds about 5 percent to the blend before secondary fermentation, imparting a subtle salmon tinge. Both the 60/40 blend and addition of the small amount of red wine create a charming wine of discreet finesse.

The Roederer Estate Rosé is full and round with smooth flavors and a fine, persistent mousse. The extra measure of Chardonnay contributes elegance and austerity that balance nicely with the delicate fruitiness of the Pinot Noir.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"Lovely aromas of crunchy red apples, a burst of minerality followed by buttery brioche. Full-flavoured with a lively and creamy mousse, layers of red berry fruit, dried apricots, wild herbs, white truffle and sea spray on the long finish, which is tinged with crushed almonds. A 56% Pinot Noir blend and 44% Chardonnay with 8 g/L of residual sugar. Aged a minimum of two years on the lees. 11,000 cases of this run were produced." - JC (Mar 2023)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"Strawberry with hints of white peach and some bread dough. Perfumed. Hints of cotton candy. Medium body. Fine bubbles. Flavorful finish. Reserved at the end giving it focus. A blend of 56% pinot noir and 44% chardonnay. 2019 base. Three years on yeast. 8.5g/L dosage." (Nov 2023)

92 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Vivacious and generous, with sleekly layered strawberry and watermelon flavors that reveal hints of ginger and spices. Refreshing finish. Drink now." - TF (Jun 2023)
91+ Points - John Gilman:
The Roederer Estate Rosé non-vintage Brut is a similar pale salmon color to the Rosés made at the mothership estate back in Reims. The wine this year is crafted from a blend of fifty-six percent pinot noir and forty-four percent chardonnay and was aged two years on its fine lees. Unlike the Rosés made by Louis Roederer, who use an infusion method to give the wine its lovely color, here in Anderson Valley the wine is made with a small addition of still pinot noir. The wine delivers a quite refined nose of peach, tangerine, a touch of melon, dried flowers, a fine base of soil and a wisp of dried rose petals in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with a fine core of fruit, good soil undertow, refined mousse and an impressively long and complex finish. Fine juice.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"This mouthfilling creamy-textured wine is packed with frothy bubbles that liven up the nicely dry, somewhat tangy flavors of raspberry and cinnamon. A touch of maturity shows up as slightly earthy aromas and lends a bit of complexity." - JG (Dec 2020)
