In this vintage the few acres of old vines on Langtry Road produced ten barrels of excellent wine. Over seventy years ago the vineyard blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Carignane was proven by the small wineries of the pre-prohibition era to be the best combination for making a complex, long-aging Claret. The 1980 Langtry should be laid down for at least three to four years to begin to develop more fully.
