About the Winery:

Produttori del Barbaresco is a legendary cooperative founded in the late nineteenth century and is the benchmark for the region's gorgeous wines.

Here's what Wine Advocate's Monica Larner had to say about this winery:
"This important estate has been making the cru selections since 1978 and the house philosophy is to make them all, or not make them at all. General Manager Aldo Vacca says the co-operative counts 54 members, of which four joined the group within the past three years. Produttori del Barbaresco counts a total of 100 hectares (for an average annual bottle production of 500,000). Each individual farm is very small in size.

The cooperative's access to many small vineyards allows Produttori del Barbaresco to take advantage of the best grapes at the best prices.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"I tasted this wine after bottling but before its commercial release. The 2015 Barbaresco will hit the market on September 1st. It was scheduled to be released in October, but because Produttori del Barbaresco is already out of stock of the 2014 Barbaresco, they decided to move this release up and shorten waiting times. I mention that because you definitely don't want to pop the cork too early. The 2015 vintage opens to a visibly darker color and thicker concentration compared to recent past vintages. Next to the upcoming 2016 and 2017 editions, we can expect 2015 to be the most fruit-forward of the three. You get dark tones of plum and blackberry with dry tannins at the rear." - Monica Larner (Jun 2018)

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Charming aromas of cherry, strawberry and rose are inviting in this red, with flavors to match, showing ripeness and focus. Earth and mineral elements chime in as this firms up, but the harmony is there and this should really sing in about five years. Best from 2022 through 2040." - BS (Dec 2018)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Rose petal, dark spice and camphor aromas slowly take shape in the glass along with a whiff of tar. Juicy and delicious, the smooth full-bodied palate has a weightless elegance, delivering succulent Marasca cherry, ripe raspberry, licorice and tobacco while fine-grained tannins provide support. Drink 2021–2027." - Kerin O'Keefe (2/1/2019)

90+ Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2015 Barbaresco, bottled in March 2018, is surprisingly potent. Then again, the 2015 is the product of a warm year often characterized by wines with rich fruit and equally big, sometimes coarse, tannins. Succulent red cherry, mint, white pepper and crushed flowers all show the finessed side of Nebbiolo. A hint of new oak needs time to fully integrate, but that should not be an issue in time." - Antonio Galloni (Oct 2018)
