Vintage:Nestled in Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley, the rolling hills of Dundee are renowned for producing some of the region’s most captivating Pinot Noirs. The 2023 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir reflects a season defined by patience, precision and a long temperate summer. The vintage began with a cool, wet spring, delaying budbreak but May brought warmth and steady growth. Warm days and cool nights promoted even ripening and phenolic development while early fall rains signaled harvest's approach. Harvest was carried out deliberately block by block, capitalizing on elevation and aspect to capture the best expression of each site.
In the glass, the wine glows with a luminous ruby hue. Aromas of mountain blueberry and red currant lead into bergamot, soft vanilla and a whisper of cigar box. Notes of rhubarb, hibiscus, dried herbs and gentle spice add lift and nuance.
On the palate, supple texture meets structured precision with fresh blackberry and ripe strawberry balanced by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. As it opens, layers of Ceylon tea, dried orange peel and baking spice unfold, finishing with savory depth and elegant persistence.
