About the Distillery:
Each year, Pinhook releases a new vintage of bourbons and ryes. Every expression is the best representation of our barrels at that moment in time, and dedicated to a promising young thoroughbred. Through a combination of careful barrel selection, blending in small batches, and meticulous proofing, each Pinhook vintage has a personality as unique as the horse on the label.

Breaking with the standard approach to American whiskey, where barrels are blended to replicate an established flavor profile at a fixed proof every time, Pinhook sees each set of barrels as a new crop, shaped by the natural variations in the ingredients and the elements. Working in small batches, we craft each vintage to express the best whiskey rather than the same whiskey, and set the proof to optimize the attributes of that year’s crop.

About the Whiskey:
With another year of maturation, the 6-Year Bourbon War showcases rich aromas of brown sugar, licorice, and toasted almond. Subtle notes of smoke and honey exhibited by the 5-year vintage have developed into a full palate of black cherries, cloves, and Tahitian vanilla.

Pinhook has no established flavor profile or proof, only an ethos to produce the best whiskey every vintage. The Bourbon Vertical Series is a unique opportunity to follow a group of 1,350 MGP high-rye barrels as they age from four to twelve years, and experience the arc of flavors throughout the nine-year journey.
