About this Wine:
Pine Ridge initially crafted this unusual and delectable blend as an experiment, creating one of their most beloved and popular wines.
Winemaker’s Notes:
Sourced from premier vineyard sites in Napa County, Sonoma County and Lake County, the grapes underwent meticulous hand-picking and careful transportation to the winery to prevent oxidization. Direct pressing with stems intact, fermentation employed a non-saccharomyces yeast strain to add some complexity followed by a saccharomyces yeast to preserve vibrant tropical aromas. Underwent no malolactic fermentation to retain the fruit’s natural acidity. Aged in 25% new French oak, 75% stainless steel tanks for 5 months, filtered before bottling.
Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - The Somm Journal:
The fruit for this wine is sourced from Napa Valley, Lake County, and Sonoma County. Candied pineapple, salty pear, sweet basil, mango, and white flowers make for an ethereal experience met by a touch of oak influence.
90 Points - James Suckling:
Aromas of sliced lemons, white pepper, Asian pears and yellow apples. The palate is medium-bodied with bright acidity and a saline edge, giving flavors of passion fruit, cut grass and melon. Nicely balanced with a phenolic edge.
