Ratings & Reviews
93 Points - Wine Spectator:
“Aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry, sandalwood and sweet spices highlight this suave, polished red. There are ample tannins for support, and this is balanced and persistent. Best from 2028 through 2043. 76 cases made, 25 cases imported.” – Bruce Sanderson (Mar 2025)
90-93 Points - Allen Meadows' BurgHound:
“Much spicier and more floral aromas include those of violet, lilac, poached plum, soil tones and discreet wood influence. I very much like the seductive, even velvety, texture of the suave and solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors that display good power on the firmly structured and solidly persistent finale. The supporting are dense but fine and while this certainly has mid- to even longer-term development potential, it could reasonably be approached after only 6 to 8 years of cellaring.” (Apr 2024)
90-92 Points - Jasper Morris' Inside Burgundy:
“From the southern end of Grands Epenots. Rich purple. Also pretty ripe but with a more fluid style of fruit, with velvety dark raspberries, super ripe floral notes, but engaging and less intense than the Domaine Clos de la Chapelle version. Drink from 2030-2037.” (Oct 2023)
88-90 Points - Vinous Media:
“The 2022 Pommard Les Grandes Epenots 1er Cru is sourced from the southern sector of the vineyard, which tends to produce fruit with a low pH. It has a ripe candied nose with Morello cherries and crushed strawberry scents, generous and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It may need more grip at the back end, but it feels cohesive and focused. There just needs to be more complexity in its final third.” - Neal Martin (Jan 2024)
