Notes from the Importer:

The name of Pierre-Luc’s 100% Chasselas cuvée, Les Blassinges, comes from the name of the parcel where the estate’s first vines were planted during the 1950s. Today this wine is a subtle blend of several parcels, all located in the heart of the St. Saphorin appellation. The wine from this outstanding terroir is fermented and aged in tank where it passes through malolactic fermentation. Afterwards it evolves on its lees during which time it gains its rich flavor complexity.
This exquisite wine should be served chilled as a refreshing, crisp apéritif, or accompanied by fish, poultry or cheese.

“Vaud veteran Pierre-Luc Leyvraz renders a single Chasselas bottling from a mosaic of parcels, committing a number of winemaking fashion faux-pas along the way. I'll single out the St-Saphorin Les Blassinges whose silken amalgam of almond, quince, green tea, iris, and honeysuckle has haunted me ever since trying it.”—David Schildnecht, The Wine Advocate

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2020 vintage)
"From a plot with many different soils (but basically more sand and light limestone), a southeast exposure and a partly (over 40%) steep slope, the 2020 St-Saphorin Grand Cru Les Blassinges is another classic of this fascinating appellation with its steep terraced vineyards overlooking Lac Léman/Lake Geneva. The wine offers a pure, fresh and mineral bouquet of ripe pears, crushed stones and lees (from sur lie aging). Rich and juicy on the generous and charming palate, this is a textured yet lean and elegant Chasselas with a medium-weight body and a long, stimulating and salty finish. This is a picture-book Chasselas made for Sunday morning brunches and whenever Champagne is too bubbly for the moment. This is a perfectly round white wine, and it's irresistible. 12.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in Zurich in February 2022." - Stephan Reinhardt (24th, Mar 2022)
