About the Winery
The Guillemot family has worked Savigny-lès-Beaune vines for eight generations and produces wines with classic Burgundian finesse and balance, all while leaving us a reminder of Savigny’s rustic character. But do not be fooled into thinking that this means they lack aging potential; the Guillemots are very proud of their old wines and thankfully have the foresight to set aside a good supply and follow their wines’ development over the years.

About this Wine:
The pretty village of Savigny-les-Beaune is nestled in a small valley north of Beaune.

100% Pinot Noir from 55 year old vines

Tasting Notes:
Guillemot’s Serpentières strikes one as the ultimate "comfort wine." There is something timeless, traditional, and reassuring each time a bottle is opened. Whatever is missing in flash and dazzle is made up for in understated elegance. This light, perfumed subtlety defined Savigny-les-Beaune’s reputation long ago, a style and tradition that remains in sure hands with the Guillemot family.

Ratings & Reviews

93+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Aromas of sweet red berries, cherries, rose petals, licorice and spices introduce Guillemot's emblematic 2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Serpentières, a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless wine that's fleshy, concentrated and vibrant, with a layered, complete profile and a long, bright finish. It's a lovely wine that will offer a broad drinking window." - William Kelley (Jan 2024)

90-92 Points - Jasper Morris' Inside Burgundy:

"Mid purple in colour, lighter than Gravains, but never expect a concentrated colour in Serpentières. The bouquet is deliciously perfumed, strawberries included the alpine version. Good acidity behind with a light bitterness which keeps the tension going. Fine length. Drink from 2027-2035." (October 2023)
