About the Winery:
Founded in 1830, Champagne Philippe Gonet is located in the heart Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, next door to Salon and a few steps away from Clos du Mesnil. The 19 hectares of family vineyards are divided among 45 parcels. Chardonnay is the Gonet family’s selected grape variety with one-third of their holdings in Le Mesnil. Stunning lots in La Chapelle-Monthodon, Vertus, and Le Breuil produce their Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

In 1977, following a request from a loyal customer, Philippe Gonet created the Pierre Cellier line from the Gonet estate vineyards naming it in honor of his first born son, Pierre, and his wife’s maiden name. The request was for a younger, more approachable, fruit-driven style with value in mind. With two years on the lees before disgorgement and seven grams dosage, this small project has only recently become available in the U.S.

About this Wine:
Aged 3 years, 2 terroirs, 1 variety, 0 dosage!

The latest addition to our family saw its first day in June 2009. It is an authentic cuvée without artifice. Its grapes are from 2 plots : one half from Le Mesnil and the other half from Montgueux, the best cru of the Aube. On this magnificent hill, ripe Chardonnay fruit comes to life. No sugar or sulfites are added at the dosage stage, revealing the subtleties of a Chardonnay in its purest form.

Tasting Notes:
A nose of pastry lightly toasted evolves into floral notes of delicate iris and lime-tree. On the palate, supple and ripe fruit as well as candied apricot and peach are topped with a touch of grapefruit and lime. It leaves you with its freshness and lingering finish. Perfect for a distinctive and refreshing aperitif.

Ratings & Reviews

90 Points - Wine Advocate:
"A 100% Chardonnay with no dosage, Philippe Gonet’s NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée 3210 evokes aromas of citrus blossom, lemon oil, spring flowers and herbs. Medium-bodied, incisive and supple, it has bright acids with a juicy core of fruit and a delicate, ethereal finish. This is a blend of the 2018 vintage (70%) as a base year and the rest composed of reserve wines." - Yohan Castaing (Mar 2024)

90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Dry and crisp, this minerally version offers subtle notes of lemon sorbet, toast point, oyster shell and dried apricot. Salty finish. Drink now. 1,300 cases made." – Alison Napjus (Nov 2023)
