Winemaker Notes:
Dark and sultry, this wine opens with aromas of fresh violets. They are then followed by purple plum, licorice, boysenberry, and finally a subtle undertone of pyrazines. On the palate these flavors grow to include tobacco, leather and cigar spice. Creamy tannins hold the complexities of this wine with you far past the last sip.
Tasting Notes:
“Dark garnet hue; Intense black cherry, dried plum, cassis, anise, chocolate, cigar spice, caramelized new French oak, sage and clove. Expect a full and plush mid palate density with layered flavors of ripe plum, blackberry, cedar spice, currant, integrated toasty oak and dark chocolate. The persistent yet balanced finish exhibits excellent depth, purity, and elegance.” Winemaker, Jay Buoncristiani

Ratings & Reviews
89 Points - James Suckling:"Lots of dark, decadent fruit to this, yet it's all in reserve and also consists of mocha, dust, ivy and crème de cassis. Full body, round tannins, no shortage of ripe fruit and a chocolate-laden finish. Slightly jammy." (Dec 2017)
Wine Spectator:
"Minty-bay leaf scents fold over to the palate in this red, with licorice, red and dark berry notes, ending with raw, grippy tannins. Drink now through 2025. 150 cases made." - JL (web only 2018)
