A forward nose of candied raspberry, cherry, cedar and sandalwood. It attacks the palate with full-throttled pure juicy cherry and raspberry accompanied by black pepper and soft tannins..

Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir from Fiddlestix Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills

Cooperage: 16 months in barrel; 50% new French oak

Technical Data: 14.4% alcohol by volume; bottled April 2013; 189 cases produced

"Outstanding, the 2011 Pinot Noir Fiddlestix shows a darker slant to its bouquet with ripe cherries, cassis, licorice, ground spices and pepper all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied, structured and nicely focused, with a stacked mid-palate, sweet tannin and a great texture, it will be better in another year and have 7-8 years of evolution, if not longer.
