Ratings & Reviews:
John Gilman:"The entry level Maximin Riesling is crafted from estate-owned vineyards in their home region of the Ruwer, as well as some in the Mosel valley. The 2021 version comes in at 11.5 percent alcohol this year, carries fifteen grams per liter of residual sugar and delivers a complex nose of apple, pear, iris blossom, slate minerality and a topnote of bee pollen. On the palate the wine is medium-full, delicate and complex, with a lovely core, excellent mineral undertow, zesty acids and fine focus and grip on the long and classy finish. Like the Pinot Blanc, this needs some air to blossom from its pinching closure, but opens up beautifully with about fifteen minutes of aeration. (Drink between 2022-2040)" (9/2022)
James Suckling:
"Plenty of yellow and red apple fruit. Juicy and well-balanced, the interplay of racy acidity, and a touch of unfermented grape sweetness pleasant, but not sophisticated. A touch of rusticity shows through the sweetness. Drink now. Screw cap." (9/2022)
Wine Spectator:
"Perfumed and floral, this is off-dry yet balanced, with delicate apple blossom and peach notes edged in chalky, bitter minerality. Clean, snappy finish. Drink now." (3/2023)
