About the Wine:
Blend: Ribolla Gialla 42%, Tocai Friulano 35%, Chardonnay 23%, Pinot Bianco 6%

Our flagship white wine blend is sourced from small vineyards around Napa and Sonoma. The four grape varietals, Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Chardonnay, and Pinot Bianco, are harvested separately and fermented independently in French oak and stainless steel tanks until blending six weeks before bottling. The Tocai, Ribolla, and Pinot Bianco build the aroma and flavor profile of the wine, while the Chardonnay adds to the wine’s structure. Annia is subtle, elegant, and fresh and fulfills the promise set forth years ago to bottle memorable white wines unique among the wines of California.

Ratings & Reviews

95 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"The 2024 Massican Annia is a beguiling white blend, lean and layered at just 11.8% ABV, yet richly complex. From the moment it’s poured, a subtle, flinty-smoky reduction greets the nose, leading into fragrant cascades of white flowers, honeysuckle, ripe yellow apple, and poached pear. On the palate, grapefruit emerges with both richness and density, threaded through with sea‑spray salinity—as if pink Himalayan salt had washed the shore—while crisp, zesty acidity brings lift and tension. Sourced from small vineyards across Napa and Sonoma, this flagship Massican blend comprises Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay, and a touch of Pinot Bianco, all picked and fermented separately in a mix of French oak and stainless steel, before being carefully blended six weeks prior to bottling. Founded in 2009 by Dan Petroski—formerly of Larkmead—Massican remains Napa Valley’s only white-wine–only label. Petroski marries his Italian roots with Californian terroir, and his wines are celebrated for their freshness, mineral clarity, and Mediterranean flair." - Jonathan Cristaldi (Aug 2025)

92 Points - James Suckling:
"So vivid, bright and light-bodied, offering fragrant aromas and brilliant citrus flavors at quite low alcohol. Fresh and almost steely, strong in acidity, mouthwatering and detailed. Minerals, flint, chalk, lemons and lime zest on the palate. Drink now." (May 2025)

92 Points, #32 Top 100 of 2025 - Wine Spectator:
"Offers a refreshing, distinctive and aromatic mix of lemon blossoms, wildflower honey, marzipan, ripe and salted melon, and apricot. Vibrant acidity keeps the flavors fresh and light on their feet, and a note of wild fennel lingers effortlessly. Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco. Drink now. 3,164 cases made." - MW (Dec 2025)

90 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2024 Annia is a blend of Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco. Ripe pear, white flowers, mint, spice and light tropical notes are nicely pushed forward. This is a softer style than most wines Dan Petroski has made at Massican. All the elements are very nicely balanced. This is the first vintage that includes a touch of Pinot Bianco." - Antonio Galloni (Nov 2025)
