Massican’s Annia is one of California’s very few must-have wines, and the 2022 s truly a breathtaking effort—one that shows why Annia has been poured at The French Laundry, The Restaurant at Meadowood, and FIG in Charleston. One of the most exotic and refreshing whites we have come across in a long time, it represents the perfect balance of Golden State sunshine and Italian-inflected zestiness.

Ribolla Gialla 41%, Tocai Friulano 33%, Chardonnay 26%. Our flagship white wine blend sourced from small vineyards around the Napa Valley. The three grape varietals, Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Chardonnay, are harvested separately and fermented independently in French Oak and stainless steel tanks until blending six weeks before bottling. The Tocai and Ribolla build the aroma and flavor profile of the wine, while the Chardonnay adds to the wine’s structure. The wine is fresh and subtle and fulfills the promise set forth years ago to bottle memorable white wines, unique amongst the whites of California.

The Annia 2022 combines 41% Ribolla Gialla, 33% Tocai Friulano, and 26% Chardonnay from Napa and Sonoma. It offers an intriguing aromatic panoply of celery root, lavender, jasmine, and lilies of the valley, along with plenty of citrus zest. A silky fruit profile reveals a medium-bodied white redolent of poached pear, yellow apple, and melon. Hints of white pepper add more intrigue, and a beguiling mid-palate density cleansed with tart citrus-bright acidity beckons sip after sip.
