About the Winery:
The origins of Agricola Marrone date back over a century and through four generations. The family is focused on cultivating local grape varietals with a passionate dedication to the land.

The farm is run with minimal intervention in the vineyard, a philosophy that carries through from harvest to winemaking. The Marrone family pays careful attention to produce wines that are elegantly structured with the potential to evolve for decades.

Winemaker's Notes:

It is full and intense, with ripe blackberry, violet, sandalwood, licorice and a hint of candied orange. There is a flicker of wood, vanilla and cloves. The tannins are silky and ripe, well-balanced acidity, for a pleasant, quite ready, immediately seductive Barolo.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Wine Advocate:
"The Marrone 2017 Barolo surprises with its more subdued nature. Despite the hot and dry growing season, the bouquet maintains its elegance with dried cherry, cassis, lavender and iris root. There are no overripe sensations here, and the elegant nuances of Nebbiolo are left largely intact, which is not easy considering the challenges of the growing season." - Monica Larner (December 2022)

91 Points - James Suckling:
"Ripe red berries and hints of brazil nuts and dried strawberries on the nose and palate. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a good, tight finish. Not particularly complex, but the fruit character persists. Drink after 2022." (July 2021)
