About the Winery:
Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins is the story of three friends combining the savoir-faire they learned from their parents and grandparents and the fruits from beautiful and historic terroirs. Nicolas Jaboulet, the 6th generation of a winegrowing family in Tain l'Hermitage, Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage, and Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhône, joined forces in 2012. They began working parcel by parcel in Crozes-Hermitage for the wines of Maison Nicolas Perrin. In 2015, the name was changed to Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins. Today, Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins produces Northern Rhône wines that are true and classic expressions of the region.

About this Wine:
Maison Les Alexandrins, a signature modern in approach and contemporary in style. An exceedingly elegant red Crozes-Hermitage that strikes the perfect balance between generosity from the red fruit and strength from the round and velvety tannins. To be enjoyed straight away or within the next 5 years!

Terroir: The terroir comprises granite slopes to the north, similar to those in Hermitage, while the soil to the south is mainly alluvial with some terraces containing stones washed up by the Rhône. The vines are planted on slopes facing due south benefiting from the Mistral breeze. There is a great difference between the wines produced in the north or in the south of the appellation. Maison les Alexandrins’ Crozes-Hermitages mainly come from vines planted in the alluvial plain.

Pre-fermentation cold maceration to develop the fruit.
- Maceration and fermentation for about 20 days with pumping over for the first few days and then punching down towards the end.
- Ageing in conical vats and demi-muids (60-litre capacity barrels) for 10 months.

100% Syrah

Tasting Notes:
Beautiful deep-purple color with shiny reflections. Precise and aromatic, the nose is typical of Syrah on this stony plain of Crozes Hermitage with notes of small red and black fruit and pepper. All in delicacy, the mouth offers a silky tannic structure and beautiful aromas of smooth red fruit. A wine with great elegance.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Creamy and suave, with a winey layer of cassis and salty plum woven with dried tobacco, forest floor and grilled anise. Supple, with a brush of oak toast on the ripe, rich, chalky mineral–lined finish. Drink now through 2030." - Kristen Bieler (Mar 2026)

91 Points - James Suckling:
"Expressive aromas of violets, white pepper, blueberries and ripe dark cherries. Medium-bodied and savory, with a polished texture and bright acidity balancing the ripe fruit. Minerally and poised through the finish. Drink now or hold." (Mar 2026)

90 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Ripe berries, leather, savory flowers, and blood orange notes emerge from the 2023 Crozes-Hermitage, a charming, forward Crozes-Hermitage that's very much in the ripe, perfumed, already expressive style of the vintage. It's medium-bodied, nicely textured, and balanced, with a complex, satisfying profile that's ready to go. Drink this pleasure-bent effort over the coming 5-7 years. Drink 2026-2033." (Feb 2026)
