About the Winery:
Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins is the story of three friends combining the savoir-faire they learned from their parents and grandparents and the fruits from beautiful and historic terroirs. Nicolas Jaboulet, the 6th generation of a winegrowing family in Tain l'Hermitage, Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage, and Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhône, joined forces in 2012. They began working parcel by parcel in Crozes-Hermitage for the wines of Maison Nicolas Perrin. In 2015, the name was changed to Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins. Today, Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins produces Northern Rhône wines that are true and classic expressions of the region.
About this Wine:
Maison Les Alexandrins, a signature modern in approach and contemporary in style. A powerful white Crozes-Hermitage with complex notes, characterised by freshness and remarkable aromatic intensity. A truly elegant wine, especially seductive thanks to its floral aromas.
Terroir: Our wine is made from Marsanne and Roussanne vines with an average age of 20 years.
Blend: Marsanne, Roussanne
Vinified in demi-muids (60-litre capacity barrels).
- 50% aged in demi-muids and 50% in concrete egg vats for 6 months.
Tasting Notes:
Beautiful clear color with shiny reflections. All in finesse, the nose is particularly floral, with aromas of white flowers, delicately associated with notes of white-flesh fruit and subtle toasted notes, signature of the vinification in barrels. Perfectly balanced between roundness and freshness, the mouth offers a silky texture sublimated by 9 months of aging in wood, and extends on a beautiful length.
Ratings & Reviews
93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
"Equal parts Roussanne and Marsanne that was vinified in demi-muids, the 2020 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc has a pure, medium-bodied, impeccably made style as well as classic notes of honeyed stone fruits, quince, spice, and toast. I love its terrific purity and great overall balance." (Feb 2022)
