Notes from the Winemaker:
Petite Ruche translates to "little beehive," which is a very appropriate name, as the vineyards were formerly dedicated to beekeeping.
Winemaking/Vineyard Notes:
This Crozes-Hermitage is vinified in cement vats with two pump-overs per day. Vatting lasts between 3 and 4 weeks after the alcoholic fermentation. Aged in vats. Soils for the Petite Ruche are composed of high alluvial deposit terraces all of which are well-drained, and organically tended.
TASTING NOTES:
A beautiful nose of red berries, blackcurrant and raspberry followed by a palate with beautiful freshness and roundness.
Ratings & Reviews:
92 Points - Wine Spectator
"Tasty blackberry and black cherry compote flavors form the core of this juicy version, featuring hints of violet, white pepper and warm earth developing through the finish."
