About the Winery:
Louis Roederer has been synonymous with the world's great Champagnes since 1776, and it is one of the rare family owned companies, which is still managed by the Roederer family today. They are also one of the only French champagne producers to own nearly 75 percent of the grapes in the most desirable vineyards in the Champagne. The property is located on 450 acres in the finest villages of Montagne de Reims, Côtes des Blancs, and Valleé de la Marne. Each region is selected to produce Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with the elegance needed for perfectly balanced champagne. The Louis Roederer vineyards rate an average 98 percent based on France’s statutory 100-point classification scale.

Louis Roeder has been collaborating with designer Philippe Starck for a number of vintages now. Sharing Philippe Starck’s “less is more” vision, illustrated by the purity and understated elegance inherent in all his designs, the Louis Roederer Champagne House set out to capture this ideal of joyful simplicity. Minimizing one’s footprint to maximize flavor, while optimizing resources and energy and evoking emotion through suggestion rather than imposition – this is the vision in which the creator and the Cellar Master found common ground and a shared sensibility. “Our thoughts converged” he recalls. “If the future is about restraint, then how can we achieve more with less?”

Vintage:
Brut Nature 2018 is the fifth vintage born of the collaboration between Maison Louis Roederer and creator Philippe Starck. Conceived as a veritable “laboratory” for the future of Champagne, Brut Nature 2018 is a champagne at the forefront of climatic change, offering a new solar and refined edition, in both a white and rosé version.

Captivating, delicate, and refined, Brut Nature 2018 captures all the year's bounty in a wave of fruity and saline freshness. It displays great harmony and precision, revealing the incomparable limestone bed of the fresh Cumières terroirs.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Decanter Magazine:
A touch of yellow pear flashes up on the nose, immediately signalling both ripeness and the sense of juiciness that pervades the entire wine. This is accompanied by some ripe Mirabelle plum and only restrained hints of creaminess. The palate is pure, and even juicier than the nose, shining with as much clarity as roundness. The absence of dosage pushes both ripeness and structure centre stage and underlines a sense of clarity, while the finest phenolic frame corrals the fruit. Harvested from a south-facing, concave hillside in the village of Cumières that slopes down to the river Marne, this is clearly ripe, but also still embryonic. Beautifully juicy and clear right now, this will gain with further bottle age." - Anne Krebiehl MW (May 2025)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"Berries and dried grapefruit with hints of salty biscuits, toast and flint on the nose of this dry Champagne. Very savory yet rich, broad shouldered and textured, too, with a firm, chalky finish. From lieu-dit La Riviere in Cumieres. Drink now or hold." (Jul 2025)
