About the Distillery:
Springbank distillery is the oldest independent, family-owned distillery in Scotland. Legal distillation began in 1828. The chairman is Hedley Wright, the great, great grandson of John Mitchell, the first legal distiller of Springbank whisky. There are a few Scottish distilleries that still malt barley but Springbank is the only distillery which malts 100% of its own barley, using the traditional floor maltings. The whole production process: malting, milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation and bottling, happens on the one site in Campbeltown.

It is a welcome return for the Longrow 18 year old this year, matured in a combination of 90% Sherry and 10% Port casks and bottled as part of our limited core range Longrow.

Maturation: 90% Sherry, 10% Port

46% ABV

Tasting Notes:

Nose: This year’s Longrow 18 kicks off with notes of blackberry jam, walnuts, liquorice and a subtle smokiness on the nose.

Palate: The peat smoke continues on the palate and notes of black forest gateaux, maraschino cherries, dates and dark chocolate ganache are introduced.

Finish: A long, gentle finish, there are notes of coffee beans, sea salt and peat smoke.
