About this Domaine:
François Legras was born into a family with four centuries of grape growing experience in Chouilly and by age 16 was learning the skills of vine-grower and cellar-master from his father. François went on to marry Brigitte Legras, née Haas, and Champagne Legras & Haas was established in 1991. Today it is run by their three sons, Olivier, Rémi and Jérôme.

The Legras-Haas family cultivates 19 hectares of vines, comprised of 32 parcels, throughout the village of Chouilly, which offers an extraordinary diversity of chardonnay styles. The family owns additional vineyard properties in Vitry (southeast of the Côte des Blancs), Les Riceys in the Côte des Bar, Épernay and Chavot. In total the family farms over 38 hectares in these outstanding terroirs.

About this Wine:
This flagship Blanc de Blancs is quintessentially Chouilly, encompassing a majority of the village terroirs and revealing the family’s expertise with Chardonnay – their collective vision. This wine is also a quest for balance, blending wines with and without malolactic fermentation for freshness, using steel and oak barrel aged wines for texture and in selecting dosage. It reveals a lightly creamy first sip, rich mid palate and fresh and persistent finish.

Winemaker Notes
Honeysuckle, citrus and pear entice the first sip, which reveals a creamy, rich palate with a fresh, dynamic and persistent finish.

Enjoy with decadent foods like caviar, oysters or tartare preparations, seafood, fried dishes and aged, hard cheese.

Ratings & Reviews

95 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Entirely Chardonnay and coming from the base vintage of 2021, the NV Champagne Blanc de Blancs Les Visions Brut has a brilliant silver/yellow hue and is pure, complex, and energetic, with a vibrant character and a shiny, reflective personality. The nose presents delicate notes of toast that frame the wine without overpowering it, and it has crystalline notes reminiscent of lime candies, green apples, and a mineral depth that persists through the mid-palate and finish. The producers are striving to make the best Chouilly they can, and the transparency of place is evident in this wine, with more rounded breadth and persistence. A blend of all the vineyards they have, with 235 different parcels across the valley, it’s a fabulous vintage wine. I encourage readers to seek it out. Drink 2025-2045." - Audrey Frick (Dec 2025)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"There’s a richness and depth to this wine, with layers of fruit and texture that are well integrated and offer a brioche, light apple and citrus character. Hints of chalk and almond, too. Long and flavorful, but reserved at the end with notes of chalk and stone. From all 32 vineyard plots they own in Chouilly. Drink or hold." (Jul 2024)

91 Points - Vinous Media:
"NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Visions Chouilly Grand Cru, based on the 2021 vintage, opens with a touch of kefir before lemony brightness emerges. The palate is taut and bright, with beautifully fine bubbles, a sense of smokiness and something slightly astringent that coats the mouth—not an unpleasant sensation at all. This adds wonderful crunch that relaxes in a lovely smoky fashion on the svelte palate. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged June 2024." - Antonio Galloni (Apr 2025)

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"With its vines in Chouilly, the first village in the Côte des Blancs, this is a textured, mineral-driven Champagne. Its grapefruit aroma and fresh lemon and kiwi flavors give a crisp character to the wine. The bottling will be even better from 2025." - Roger Voss (Dec 2024)
