About the Winery:
About the same size as the Napa Valley, Walla Walla is buttressed against the beautiful Blue Mountains on the east, Vansycle basalt ridge on the south, and rolling Palouse Hills to the north. Walla Walla means “many waters” and was the name of the local Native Americans who inhabited the valley.
About the Wine:This wine is sourced from prestigious vineyard sites representing three unique soil types in the Walla Walla Valley. Its old-world structure, dense dark fruit flavors, and elegant tannins exemplify the best of Walla Walla.
Vineyards:
This Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the diversity of terroir in the Walla Walla Valley from
vineyards planted in:
Loess over ice-age flood silts – Pepper Bridge
Wind-blown loess – Estate Seven Hills, Summit View, & Eritage
Alluvial gravel “The Rocks” – Yellow Jacket & Waliser
low yields, intense concentration, high acidity, and outstanding quality in what will likely
become a memorable vintage.
Ratings & Reviews
93 Points - Decanter Magazine
"A hot season yielded to cooler ripening weather during the fall resulting in unusually
low yields, intense concentration, high acidity, and outstanding quality in what will likely
become a memorable vintage."
93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
"Cassis, spicy wood, vibrant flowers, and hints of spicy oak all emerge from the
2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley, a nicely balanced, elegant, and
medium-bodied Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that has ripe, polished
tannins and a great finish. I love it today, yet it’s going to evolve nicely for a
solid decade or more as well. It’s another impeccably made wine from this
terrific estate."
92 Points - James Suckling
"A compact, dark-fruited Cabernet showing black currant, blueberry, ink
and tomato leaf aromas. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins that melt
into the black fruit. Drink from 2025."
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
" Talk about classic—this cab hits with graphite, blackcap raspberry and cigar
box aromas right out of the gate. The wine’s burly tannins are necessary to
corral copious amounts of black cherry and boysenberry fruit flavors. Hovering
in the background are traces of black tea and a starchy note similar to sweet
potato fries."
