Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Firm and minerally, with a smoky undertow and well-meshed flavors of toasted walnut, pear tart, lemon meringue and fleur de sel riding the creamy mousse. Best from 2017 through 2020. 7,000 cases imported." – AN (Mar 31, 2016)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Light yellow-gold. Meyer lemon and pear skin aromas are complemented by notes of chalky minerals, quinine and brioche. Chewy and dry on entry, then fleshier and smoother in the mid-palate, offering densely packed orchard fruit flavors and a hint of bitter citrus pith. Closes with firm grip and very good, mineral-driven persistence, leaving a toasty, smoky note behind. Here's an NV bottling that deserves cellaring." Josh Raynolds (Dec 12)

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Lanson's Black Label is one of the most familiar Champagne brands, well known for its rich but dry style. It needs some bottle agee ”as has happened with this bottling—to soften the crispness. The wine is rounded out with toast, puff pastry and freshened with apple skins " RV (12/1/2009)
