About the Winery:
Founded in 1760, Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne Houses. Drawing on family heritage and unique expertise, the men and women of Lanson have been guided for 260 years by their love of a job well done and their love for others.
The unique and authentic style of Lanson Champagnes rests on four immutable pillars: a meticulous selection of Crus (including historical villages such as Dizy, Verzenay, Trépail and more); a vinification according to the traditional Champagne principle, using low malolactic fermentation for incomparable fruitiness and freshness; a rare collection of reserve wines spanning numerous vintages over 20 years, and a longer aging in cellars.
About this Wine:
The legendary Lanson Black Label Champagne, with its eponymous black label, owes its name to Victor Lanson who wished to pay tribute to the House's flagship market, Great Britain. This wine perpetuates the Lanson style everywhere, throughout the ages.
Tasting Notes:
Blend: 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Meunier

Ratings & Reviews
90 Points - Wine Advocate:
"Disgorged on June 2023 and based on the 2018 vintage, the NV Brut Black Label has a delicate, herbal bouquet with aromas of orchard fruit, spring flowers, lemon oil and spices, followed by a medium-bodied palate with tensile and bright acids. It concludes with an energetic, elegant finish." - Yohan Castaing (Nov 2023)
90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A vibrant Champagne, with hints of brioche and pastry enriching flavors of juicy white peach, candied ginger and lemon meringue on a fine, creamy bead. Lingering, lightly spiced finish. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged September 2020. Drink now. 20,000 cases imported." - Alison Napjus (Nov 2022)
90 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The flagship of the brand, the NV Champagne Le Black Label Brut release is based on the 2016 vintage with 40% reserve wine spanning 10 vintages. Some of the reserve wine is aged in cask, the remainder in stainless steel. The nose is expressive and fragrant with ripe red fruits, white strawberry, red roses, and brioche. The palate is juicy and round, with primary juicy Anjou pear, Mirabel plum, and honeycomb. A crowd pleaser, this is perfect as an aperitif and for parties. Drink 2022-2030." (Nov 2022)
