About the Winery:
The Rivetti family story begins in the 1890s, when Giovanni Rivetti, left Piedmont for Argentina. Like many Italians then, he dreamed of returning a rich man, perhaps even one day able to make great wine in his homeland. He never did, though his son, Giuseppe “Pin” did.
In 1985 La Spinetta made its first red wine, and acclaim soon followed as owner / winemaker Giorgio Rivetti's magic touch with Nebbiolo took the world by storm. He produces approachable yet age-worthy wines that capture the attention of wine critics and consumers year in and year out with their opulence, concentration, aromatics and length. Whatever Giorgio touches turns to gold as his Barbarescos and Barolos are the Ne Plus Ultra of their category, as confirmed by Wine Spectator Magazine and Wine Advocate.
About This Wine:
The current expression of La Spinetta’s Langhe Nebbiolo is crafted from declassified Barbaresco and Barolo Crus, making it one of the most compelling values in Piemonte. The fruit now comes from the prestigious Barbaresco vineyards of Bordini, Gallina, and Starderi in Neive, as well as Valeirano in Treiso — all renowned for producing complex and age-worthy wines. A small percentage of Nebbiolo also comes from the Garretti Barolo Cru in the historic village of Grinzane Cavour, adding further depth and structure. The wine is racy and beautifully layered, showing vivid notes of red cherry, raspberry, and crushed blueberries, laced with floral highlights, sweet spices, and a subtle minty lift. It’s full-bodied and expressive, yet elegant and polished, offering the charm and complexity of its noble origins in a style meant to be enjoyed young — though it certainly has the bones to evolve gracefully over several years.

Ratings & Reviews
90 Points - Vinous Media
"The 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo is superb. Strong floral and savory notes open first. Dried herbs, menthol, licorice, plum, graphite and crushed flowers are beautifully delineated in the glass. The 2024 is classy and refined, with more than enough depth to pull it all together. This is a stellar wine, especially in the context of the year." - Antonio Gallone (Oct 2025)
