About the Winery:
This family-owned cooperative was established in 1923 by a group of winegrowers in Chablis with the goals of driving quality and innovation in the region, as well as bolstering the influence of its members. This winery is rooted in a pioneering spirit, creating pure, minerality driven wines of exquisite quality. Today, La Chablisienne spans over 200 winegrowing families and 1,200 hectares farmed and is known for producing some of the top wine in Chablis.
By 2026, La Chablisienne plans to have 100% of its vineyards HVE3-certified and 75% will be Terra Vitis-certified.
Vinification for all wines is performed to maintain the nuances of each particular terroir, which is accomplished through cold settling before fermentation and conducting primary and malolactic fermentations in stainless steel tanks. These elegant cuvées are known for their purity, energy and minerality.
About this Wine:
Sitting in the middle of the Colline des Grand Crus (hill of the Grand Crus) on the right bank of the Serein River, Grenouilles is the smallest of the Grand Crus and La Chablisienne owns over 75% of this climat. The name, which dates from the early 14th century, is a reference to the frogs that visit the vineyard from the Serein in the spring. Geology together with its excellent exposure deliver optimum ripeness and phenolic maturity, which yields generous wines with finesse, precision and strength—a complex tension gilded with minerality.

Ratings & Reviews
95 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"Plenty of concentration on the palate, but there is also plenty of lift and elegance. Stone fruit characters allied to citrus acidity and some forceful mineral notes on the finish add to the freshness. Very impressive example of Grenouilles with a great future ahead. Buy a case and keep for at least five years. Tank sample." - Andy Howard MW (Oct 2023)
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Green apple and crushed stone play volleyball on the nose cheered on by toasted bread and Bartlett pear. The palate is rich with harmonious, well-integrated flavors that are relaxed in expression. Pair with smoked salmon, cobb salad and grilled chicken." - Anna-Christina Cabrales (Nov 2025)
93 Points - James Suckling:
Complex notes of dried lemons, waxed apples, fennel, wet stones and seashells follow through to a medium-bodied, mineral and savory palate. Lots of texture and focus. Drink or hold." (Nov 2024)
92-94 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"Once again the moderately generous wood stops just short of overshadowing the vaguely exotic nose of white peach, dried pear, seaweed, iodine and tidal pool suggestions. The caressing and utterly delicious medium weight plus flavors flash good power and mid-palate density, all wrapped in a balanced, long and nicely precise finale. This too could use more complexity but the Château de Grenouilles cuvée has a fine track record over many years of always developing well in bottle." (Aug 2023)
