About the Winery:
This family-owned cooperative was established in 1923 by a group of winegrowers in Chablis with the goals of driving quality and innovation in the region, as well as bolstering the influence of its members. This winery is rooted in a pioneering spirit, creating pure, minerality driven wines of exquisite quality. Today, La Chablisienne spans over 200 winegrowing families and 1,200 hectares farmed and is known for producing some of the top wine in Chablis.
By 2026, La Chablisienne plans to have 100% of its vineyards HVE3-certified and 75% will be Terra Vitis-certified.
Vinification for all wines is performed to maintain the nuances of each particular terroir, which is accomplished through cold settling before fermentation and conducting primary and malolactic fermentations in stainless steel tanks. These elegant cuvées are known for their purity, energy and minerality.
About this Wine:
Sitting in the middle of the Colline des Grand Crus (hill of the Grand Crus) on the right bank of the Serein River, Grenouilles is the smallest of the Grand Crus and La Chablisienne owns over 75% of this climat. The name, which dates from the early 14th century, is a reference to the frogs that visit the vineyard from the Serein in the spring. Geology together with its excellent exposure deliver optimum ripeness and phenolic maturity, which yields generous wines with finesse, precision and strength—a complex tension gilded with minerality.

Ratings & Reviews
93 Points – Decanter Magazine:
“Fine Grenouilles from the La Chablisienne Co-op. Very precise and youthful, plenty of vibrant acidity here and medium weight on the palate. Should be a lovely Grenouilles to enjoy while (relatively) young. Flinty finish.” – Andy Howard MW (Oct 2022)
93 Points – Wine Spectator:
“The initial impression is round, with ample peach, grapefruit, melon and flint flavors framed by a light kiss of oak. The steely structure sneaks up on you, taking over and defining the lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2028. 150 cases imported.” – Bruce Sanderson (Sep 2024)
92 Points – Wine Enthusiast:
A heady nose of green pears, underripe white peach, and delicate white rose petals, jasmine, and vanilla pod sets the stage. The palate is energetic and textured, with brisk acidity enhancing a salty green pear and a subtle vegetal midpalate. The finish is soft, with lingering stone minerality. Refreshing and approachable in its youth. — Anna-Christina Cabrales (May 2025)
91-93 Points – Allen Meadows’ BurgHound:
“This is typically fairly generously wooded though in 2021, it's more subtle though this isn't to say nonexistent on the fresh and ripe white fleshed fruit aromas that are trimmed in hints of sea breeze and iodine. The succulent and suave but quite punchy larger-scaled flavors evidence fine power and density while delivering solid length on the slightly bitter finish. Note that my range offers the benefit of the doubt that the bitterness will age out with time in bottle.” (Oct 202)
