About the Whisky:
A selection of our very best Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been matured for a minimum of 20 years to tame “The Beast of Dufftown" into smooth submission and mellow complexity. It is a whisky that would have made the great Alexander Cowie proud.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Old Copper.
Body: Robust and rich. Palate clinging
Nose: Dense, elegant & intriguing. Dried fruit, cedarwood, leather, and tobacco.
Palate: Robust palate with a coating of oiliness. Aromatic citrus. Hints of wood spice opening into a dark, meatiness of barbecue pork crackling. Berries, jam & cocoa nibs add brightness.
Finish: Deep and complex, with gingerbread, raisin, and a hint of liquorice.
Awards/Reviews:
Master Distiller Of The Year - Intl Whisky Competition 2023
Best Of Class, Platinum - SIP Awards 2023
97 Points, Finalist - Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2023
"This mature and stately whiskey shows mouth watering aromas of butterscotch toffee, caramel cream, lemon tea cake, and toasted French vanilla. Silky and decadent, the palate expands to all forms of candy shop pleasures and finishes long and hedonistic."
Double Platinum - Ascot Awards 2023
"This doesn't mess around — big flavors of dates and ripe figs, with light vanilla and oak on the finish. For a decidedly mature whisky, it's quite youthful and vibrant. And delicious."
Platinum - LA Spirits Awards 2023
Gold - SF World Spirits Competition 2023
95 Points - Intl Wine & Spirits Competition 2022
"Apple strudel and smoked baked apple displaying a rich melange of orchard fruits with lifted tropical notes. Earthy with sweet and creamy vanilla biscuits and wholesome cereal with a balanced touch of cinnamon spice on the finish."
97 Points - Vinepair
"Though it ages in oak for a couple of decades, do not expect a sleepy or tired experience from this 20-year-old single malt. The nose begins with a vibrancy that continues right onto the finish, with violet and sweet raspberry aromas transitioning to sweet oak, vanilla, and baking spices."
"Very developed with the smoothness of a long aged dram, yet still incredibly viscous and powerful. Beeswax, vanilla whipped cream, and praline. Spice from the barrel including nutmeg and cloves. Strong malted backbone, with an incredibly sulfuric finish that leaves your mouth dry and wanting more." - The Whiskey Wash
