About the Whisky:

The world's first Single Barrel Canadian Whisky.
Caribou Crossing Single Barrel has been painstakingly handcrafted by our expert whisky making team which has selected the finest whisky available from our inventory of over 200,000 barrels. The whisky has been patiently aged in oak for many years to give it a rich and complex yet smooth flavor. Each barrel is then bottled individually with expert care and skill under rigorous quality standards. A new Canadian Whisky as bold and adventurous as the great Caribou who roam the wild, Caribou Crossing is a Canadian Whisky unequaled by any other.

  • Bottled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY using the same methods and in the same location as Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon.
  • Bottled twice per year (Spring & Fall)
  • Created By Sazerac's world renowned Canadian Whisky Master Blender, Drew Mayville, who was previously the last master blender of the Seagram dynasty and who spent over 20 years crafting Crown Royal.

Tasting notes:
Whisky buffs can expect to taste radiantly-hued nectar with a nod to the tantalizing silky texture provided by the barrel. The rye grain cuts through the wood flavors making its spicy presence known without risking the creamy vanilla custard smoothness. The finish is oak with an orangey tang.

Ratings/Reviews:

Platinum - Ascot Awards 2024

"Toasted cereal and oak on the nose, with some hints of vanilla and fruit, and a crisp little whiff of black pepper. Sweet and friendly on the palate."

93 Points, Finalist - Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2023

"Elegant on the nose, with hints of caramel, waxy orange peel, peppermint, and shaved coconut. Delightfully smooth and perfectly structured, with orchard fruits drizzled in honey followed by clove and allspice on a long, mellow finish. A bonafide classic whisky that’s perfect for sipping."

Gold - Intl Spirits Challenge 2022, 2021

93 Points - Whiskey Advocate:
"Those of you who think Canadian whiskies are thin and bland should give this one a try. No, it's not a new concept, like Forty Creek. It's still very much a Canadian. But when compared to most Canadian whiskies, it's richer, creamier, and velvety smooth. The flavors are straightforward: primarily vanilla, with some creme brulee, toasted marshmallow, tangerine, peaches and cream, and gentle rye spice but they are clean and well-balanced. A delicious, lighter-style whisky."

91 Points - Intl Wine & Spirits Competition 2021

"Deep caramel and woody spice on nose, with vanilla and icing sugar. Refreshing and vibrant, creamy palate with golden syrup and honeyed sweetness. Rich intensity with baking spice on the finish."

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast

"This is mild and smooth, showing concentrated vanilla, brown sugar and maple on nose and palate. It tapers off gently with a flurry of cinnamon and clove."
