About
This deeply satisfying new release showcases the superb quality of dark red fruit from this 2020 vintage in Burgundy. This inaugural release is a blend of two Premier Cru vineyards (Les Bressandes and Les Teurons) outside the town of Beaune. The velvety texture delivers thrills from start to the creamy rich finish. Aromas of Violets and Lily capture your attention and lead to bold and racy red fruit (pomegranate, rhubarb, strawberry) notes deftly balanced with cooking spices and savory herbs. This tightly wound thriller will deliver enjoyment now (decanting recommended prior to 2024) through 2028+
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Ripe black cherry and dried cranberry aromas are illuminated with hints of herbs de Provence and black truffle.
Mouth:
Decadent, with firm, sleek tannins and an expansive palate that leads to an elongated, pure finish.
Ratings & Reviews
"Iron, spice and dark fruit. Black pepper, too. Full and juicy, with lots of spice, asphalt, flowers and earth. Lots going on here. From Les Teurons and Bressandes sites. Drink or hold." - JS (Sept 2022)
92 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"Since 2015, Kosta Browne winemaker Julien Howsepian has been travelling to Burgundy to select barrels from a cooperage near Beaune for his California Pinots. Aged in one-third new French oak, two premier cru plots were sourced for this Pinot: Les Bressandes, north of Beaune, confers rusticity, while Les Teurons contributes spice notes, underscored by redcurrants and cinnamon, bolstered by broad-shouldered tannins. A firm acid grip softens under a long, dark chocolate finish. (Drink between 2022-2028)" - Jonathan Cristaldi (Mar 2022)
