The Syrah 2018 Kongsgaard Napa Valley hails from 2.7 acres on the Hudson ranch in Carneros where the mineral rich soil and the coastal climate bring the most intense qualities of Syrah into focus: classic aromas of black pepper, smoked meat, orange peel and rose petals; juicy vibrant flavors; and an intense core of silky tannin. Summing up his vertical tasting, Stephen Tanzer concluded that Kongsgaard Syrah is “arguably California’s greatest single Syrah bottling.” 375 cases produced.
