About the Winery:
Located in rural Carlton, Oregon, Ken Wright Cellars is devoted to showcasing the inherent quality of selected vineyard sites. With a clarity and breadth that is unequaled by other varieties, the people at Ken Wright cellars believe Pinot noir best expresses the character of these sites. Rather than stamping wine with a varietal trademark, they see Pinot noir as a vehicle for conveying the aroma, flavor and texture of the location in which it is grown.

About this wine:
Ken Wright Cellars Eola-Amity Hills AVA Pinot Noir is a red wine produced from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Eola-Amity Hills American Viticultural Area (AVA) in Oregon, USA. This wine is known for its intense aromas and flavors of dark fruit, such as black cherry and blackberry, as well as notes of spice, earth, and floral undertones. The wine is medium-bodied with a balanced acidity and firm tannins, making it a versatile wine to pair with various dishes, such as roasted poultry or grilled salmon. Ken Wright is a renowned producer of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs in Oregon, and his Eola-Amity Hills AVA Pinot Noir is a highly-regarded example of this style.

Tasting Notes: Dark notes of juicy blackberry, ripe plum and blueberry. Generous and lingering on the finish with notes of orange peel and hibiscus.

Ratings & Reviews

95 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
From the volcanic soils Eola-Amity Hills, the 2022 Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills is a jewed ruby/magenta color and is expressive in the glass, with notes of raspberry preserve, crushed wildflowers, licorice, and sweet herbs, as well as a sanguine lift with great, ripe purity. Elegant and refined, it reveals fine, ripe tannins, a seamless feel, and more mouthwatering finish. Drink 2025-2037.

93 Points - Intl Wine Review:
A bright transparent ruby core with a blue rim, the 2022 Eola-Amity Pinot Noir from Ken Wright gifts notes of mountain huckleberries, crushed black cherries, black licorice, bitter herbs, and lime zest. Medium-bodied in texture, it finishes with lovely tannins, elevated acidity, and a blue fruited note on the mid-palate.

93 Points - Wine Spectator:

Polish meets structure in this vibrant red, whose raspberry and boysenberry flavors are accented by crushed stone and dusky spice notes while building tension and richness toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032. 2,968 cases made.
