About the Winery:
Since 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin, inspired by generations of family values, has always been committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and actively contributing to sustainable development in all its aspects. Today, I am proud to introduce to you our committed CSR and environmental approach, which not only represents our core values but also our dedication to a better future for our planet and future generations. How can Joseph Drouhin preserve nature and continue to share the story and quality of great terroirs worldwide? Our goal for 2030 is to be a model for preserving viticultural heritage and ensuring its resilience against climate change and human challenges. As well as a comprehensive carbon assessment, we have also put in place a dedicated committee that works closely with the Executive Board and the Drouhin family on these fundamental issues.

Tasting Notes:
"A refined wine, well appreciated in the whole world. A beautiful golden color and a great aromatic palette: honey, linden flower (“tilleul”), hazelnut butter, sometimes even chamomile or hawthorn. On the palate, a silky roundness. Long on the aftertaste, with flavors of yellow plum and gingerbread”. – Véronique Boss-Drouhin

DESCRIPTION:

    • Located a few kilometers south of Beaune, in the celebrated terroir of Côte des Blancs (Slope of the Whites).

    • Meursault is certainly one of the oldest villages in Burgundy.

    • Joseph Drouhin buys grapes from selected vineyards.
    • At harvest time, the grapes are hand-picked and pressed very gently in a pneumatic press.
    • The juice starts to ferment in barrels naturally.
    • The malolactic fermentation is always left to follow its course.
    • Aged in barrels (25% in new oak) for 12 months.

GRAPE VARIETY:

    • 100% Chardonnay

FOOD PAIRINGS:

    • Meursault can be served alone as an aperitif with smoked salmon.
    • At dinner, Meursault is recommended with delicate fish dishes, lobster, foie gras or even poultry, as well as fresh goat cheese.

    Ratings & Reviews

    94 Points - James Suckling:

"Nicely broad and rich in aromas but kept refined and elegant in the Drouhin style, with fresh apples, crisp pears, minerals and a hint of butter. This has the purity and polish of the appellation and is tempting to drink now. Best after 2027." - Jim Gordon (June 2024)

    94 Points - Wine Enthusiast:

"Fine vanilla aromas complement fresh almonds and citrus fruit in this wine, creating a focused and vibrant profile with wild white flowers weaving through. Piercing acidity animates a complex palate of light pithy citrus, baked pears, and salty alluvial wet stone. With good concentration for the vintage, it offers a long yet elegant finish. Enjoyable now." - Anna-Christina Cabrales (December 2024)

    90 Points - Wine Spectator:

"Rich, expressive and balanced, with a light texture to its peach, apple, butter and oak spice flavors. The lingering finish echoes oak spice and apple accents. Drink now through 2027. 500 cases imported." - Bruce Sanderson (May 2024)

    90 Points - Wine Advocate:

"The 2022 Meursault Village delivers aromas of honeyed pears, toasted nuts, white flowers and peach, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave palate of impressive length and structure. Like its Puligny counterpart, this will show well young." Drink 2024-2030. - William Kelley (January 2024)
